Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed

Instructions 

  1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage, onion, and sugar.
  2. In a saucepan, combine vinegar, salt, celery seed, and mustard seed. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour hot vinegar mixture over cabbage mixture and toss to coat.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Serve chilled.
