Arepas de Queso
Arepas de Queso are delicious, cheesy corn cakes popular in Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups precooked cornmeal (masarepa)
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 cup grated cheese (mozzarella or queso blanco)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon butter for cooking
In a mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, warm water, grated cheese, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into patties about ½ inch thick.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Cook the arepas for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Serve warm with additional butter or your favorite toppings.
