Ingredients

  • 1 quart Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 pound cake Pound Cake sliced
  • 4 large Egg Whites
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
  2. 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. 3. Place slices of pound cake on the baking sheet and top with scoops of ice cream. Freeze until firm.
  4. 4. In a mixing bowl, whisk egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and vanilla extract, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. 5. Remove the ice cream and cake from the freezer. Cover completely with meringue.
  6. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the meringue is golden brown. Serve immediately.
