Bananas Foster
A classic New Orleans dessert made with bananas, rum, and ice cream.

Main Ingredients
- 4 bananas sliced lengthwise and halved
- ¼ cup butter unsalted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup dark rum
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add brown sugar and cinnamon, stir until sugar dissolves.
Add bananas and cook until tender, about 2 minutes per side.
Remove skillet from heat, add rum, and carefully ignite with a long lighter.
Let flames die down, then stir in vanilla extract.
Serve immediately over vanilla ice cream.
