Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef chuck cut into chunks
  • 1 Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add a bit of oil and brown the beef chunks on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same pot, add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. 3. Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for a few minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
  4. 4. Add the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, dried oregano, and dried basil. Stir to combine.
  5. 5. Return the browned beef to the pot. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it cook for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  6. 6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over pasta or your favorite side dish.
