  • 4 cups bread, cubed day-old or stale
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the mixture and stir until the bread is well-coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving.
