Main Ingredients
- 1 cup rice preferably glutinous rice
- 1 lb chicken cut into pieces
- 6 cups water
- 1 piece onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 piece ginger julienned
- 2 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 pieces green onions chopped, for garnish
- 1 piece lemon sliced, for garnish
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.
Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned.
Stir in the rice and cook for a couple of minutes.
Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture is thickened, about 30 minutes.
Season with fish sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
Serve hot, garnished with green onions and lemon slices.
