  • 2 medium Yellow squash sliced into ¼ inch rounds
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 1 cup Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2. Dip squash slices in buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture.
  3. 3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. 4. Fry squash slices until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
