  • 4 cube steaks
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour for dredging
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Season the cube steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Dredge the steaks in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. 3. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. 4. Brown the steaks on both sides, then remove from the skillet.
  5. 5. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
  6. 6. Stir in the remaining flour and cook for a minute.
  7. 7. Gradually whisk in the beef broth, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  8. 8. Return the steaks to the skillet, reduce the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  9. 9. Serve the steaks with the gravy poured over the top.
