French Onion Soup
A classic French soup with caramelized onions, beef broth, and a cheesy crouton topping.

Main Ingredients
- 4 large onions thinly sliced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup gruyere cheese grated
- 1 baguette French bread sliced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. 
- 2. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 25 minutes. 
- 3. Add sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well. 
- 4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. 
- 5. Preheat oven to broil. 
- 6. Ladle soup into oven-safe bowls. Top with bread slices and grated cheese. 
- 7. Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.
