  • 2 Green tomatoes sliced
  • ½ cup Cornmeal
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • ¼ cup Buttermilk
  • ½ cup Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 slices Bread toasted
  • 2 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded

Instructions 

  1. 1. Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. 2. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg and buttermilk.
  3. 3. Dip tomato slices in the egg mixture, then coat with the cornmeal mixture.
  4. 4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry tomatoes until golden brown.
  5. 5. Spread mayonnaise on toasted bread slices.
  6. 6. Assemble the sandwich with fried tomatoes and shredded lettuce.
