long-grain white rice

Instructions
1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
3. Add the rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the butter and garlic.
4. Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
6. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley, if using.
