  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. 3. Add the rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the butter and garlic.
  4. 4. Pour in the chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and bring to a boil.
  5. 5. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  6. 6. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley, if using.
