ham bone or 2 cups diced ham

Instructions
Rinse split peas under cold water.
In a large pot, combine all ingredients.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
Remove ham bone, chop meat, and return to soup.
Season with salt and pepper.
