  • 1 cup Warm Water
  • 2 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Active Dry Yeast
  • 2.5 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and honey. Stir until honey is dissolved.
  2. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5 minutes, until foamy.
  3. Add whole wheat flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let the dough rise again for about 30 minutes, or until it reaches the top of the pan.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped. Let cool before slicing.
