Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Milk Warm
  • ¼ cup Butter Melted
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ½ cup Raisins
  • 1 unit Egg Beaten

Instructions 

  1. 1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. 3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Punch down the dough, add raisins, and knead briefly to incorporate.
  7. 7. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into buns, and place on a baking tray. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the buns for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Mix a little flour and water to make a paste, pipe a cross on each bun, and return to the oven for 5 more minutes.
