Instructions
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a 9x13 baking pan. Let it cool completely.
Once the cake is cool, use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
In a bowl, mix the boiling water with the Jell-O until completely dissolved. Add the cold water and stir.
Pour the Jell-O mixture over the cake, making sure it gets into all the holes. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Spread the whipped topping over the cake. Slice and serve.
