Main Ingredients
- 3 large eggs, separated
- ½ cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour sifted
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with ¼ cup of sugar and vanilla extract until thick and pale.
In another bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining ¼ cup of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites. Sift the flour and salt over the mixture and fold gently until combined.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a round tip. Pipe 3-inch long strips onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Dust the piped batter with powdered sugar. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the ladyfingers are lightly golden and firm to the touch.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
