  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • 2 units eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the lemon zest.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the batter alternately with the milk.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
