Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef flank steak sliced thinly against the grain
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bunch spring onions cut into 2-inch pieces

Instructions 

  1. 1. Toss the beef slices with cornstarch, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. In the same wok, add the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and garlic. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. 4. Return the beef to the wok and stir to coat with the sauce. Add the spring onions and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. 5. Serve hot with steamed rice.
