Navajo Tacos Recipe
Delicious and hearty Navajo Tacos made with fry bread and topped with seasoned ground beef, beans, and your favorite toppings.

Fry Bread
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- as needed vegetable oil for frying
Taco Topping
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can pinto beans drained and rinsed
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- as desired sour cream
- as desired salsa
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add warm water, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Divide into 4 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a round disc.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry each dough disc until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
In another pan, cook ground beef until browned. Add taco seasoning and pinto beans, cooking until heated through.
Top each fry bread with the beef mixture, then add lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and salsa as desired.
