Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add ground beef to the saucepan and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in marinara sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top. Spread a layer of ricotta cheese, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce.
Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving.
