Pizza Dough Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions 

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 3 ½ cups flour, olive oil, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
  3. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Lightly oil a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  6. Roll or pat dough into a round. Transfer to the prepared pan. Spread with desired toppings.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
