Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Dried black-eyed peas rinsed and sorted
- 6 cups Water
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 Ham hock
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
1. In a large pot, combine the black-eyed peas and water. Bring to a boil.
2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and ham hock to the pot.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the peas are tender.
4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the ham hock before serving.
