- 1 cup Grits stone-ground
- 4 cups Water
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
Slowly whisk in the grits and reduce heat to low.
Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
Stir in butter, cheese, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth.
Serve hot.
